I hate how people always call this a "ball joint separator" when it's actually a pickle fork which can be used to separate ball joints. If you're trying to carefully take them out then look for something else because with this tool you aren't asking it to separate. You are beating the life out the joint making it separate. Which is useful if you are replacing ball joints and no planning to reuse them.
